Class size is limited to 32 registered students. A waiting list is maintained in case of cancellations or incomplete registrations.
To register, please fill out and submit (fax or mail) either the PDF or Word versions of the training form.
Classes are held at Marine Chemist Service’s training facility located at: 1000 W. 27th Street (on the corner of Killam Avenue), Norfolk, VA–directions Unless otherwise noted, all classes start at 8:00 am.
Also, click the appropriate links to read the most recent reviews of the Shipyard Competent Person and other courses, ABIH letters approving both the Initial SCP and Update SCP courses (now with even more Certification Maintenance (CM) Points: 3.5 and 1.09, respectively), and/or to watch a live-fire training exercise.
Certificates are mailed upon successful completion of all course(s). Identification cards are also issued for Shipyard Competent Person and Fire Watch training.
Those canceling more than 5 business days prior to the beginning of class will receive a full refund. Within 5 days of the scheduled class, the balance of the course, minus registration, will be refunded. The registration fee will be retained (or invoiced for those using purchase orders) to defer administrative costs. MCS reserves the right to schedule additional classes, or postpone others, as necessary. In the event of a change, this electronic schedule shall serve as the official, most current version.
Additional classes can be arranged (at our facility or yours) subject to classroom availability, number of students, etc. If you do not see a lead or mold course listing that accommodates your schedule, please contact our office.
