Although experienced Virginia asbestos licensed Inspector, Management Planner, Designer, and/or Project Monitor, and Virginia lead licensed Inspector/Risk Assessor or Project Designer are preferred, training will be provided for candidates not having a Virginia asbestos license or lead license. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in a physical science such as biology, chemistry, or environmental science are preferred.

MARINE CHEMIST TRAINEE
Training position for inspecting tanks, pipelines, machinery rooms, manholes, etc. for entry into confined spaces and hot work.
- Must have a security clearance (or good character and police record in order to obtain a clearance).
- Prior USCG, USN, and/or shipyard experience is preferred.
- Prior CP/SCP/GFE experience is preferred.
- Prior industrial hygiene and/or petroleum laboratory experience is preferred.

SENIOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Marine Chemist Service is an expert in the environmental and safety field, providing lab testing and training services for the maritime and petroleum industries, commercial businesses, schools, and governmental agencies. To succeed in this role, you must have prior success selling services to managers of mid- to large sized companies within a competitive marketplace. You must excel at expanding existing accounts, as well as finding and closing new opportunities — selling value within a short sales cycle. You must be a self-starter who enjoys working independently, with the support of Industry Experts. Territory: US with focus on Mid Atlantic Area
Primary responsibilities include:
- Identify, pursue, and close new outbound business opportunities to meet sales objectives.
- Develop a pipeline of business equivalent to 4X annual sales goals through pursuit of self-generated new opportunities, inbound leads, networking and referrals.
- Create and build relationships with key referral partners to facilitate growth.
- Qualify and assess needs from inbound leads and inquiries to identify growth opportunities to pursue.
- Professional networking and lead generation by phone, professional organizations, online/virtual and in-person meetings.
- Negotiate agreements and close deals to maximize profits.
- Prompt follow-up communication – internally and externally. Active use of CRM tools is a must!
- Collaborate across internal teams to build appropriate solutions for consulting, training and / or laboratory analysis.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Successful B2B sales background, with proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding individual sales quotas. Prior sales experience in selling in Manufacturing, Heavy Industrial, Industrial Hygiene or Safety fields in advantage but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and qualify prospects to consistently to achieve sales objectives.
- The ability to clearly articulate business value that customers will realize through working with Marine Chemist Service.
- Flexibility and adaptability to pivot between sales opportunities and navigate a fast-paced environment in a high demand field.
- Desire to work in an environment that rewards results and maintains high ethical standards.
Other Skills and Qualifications:
- Self-starter, Customer Oriented, Selling skills, Sales Planning and Analysis, Building/Nurturing Relationships, Managing Processes, Highly Organized, Professionalism, CRM knowledge, and Microsoft Office including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience/Education:
3+ years of Sales experience, B2B preferred. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
